Spring Break

I enjoyed my spring break very much. Although I did not do much, I thought it was a good spring break. For most of the week I stayed at my grandmas. For the remainder of spring break, I stayed home and relaxed. I really needed to be out of school for a week because I was getting extremely stressed about school. Over spring break, I cleaned the majority of my house so that I would not be as stressed when school started back. I do, however, regret not studying of spring break because I felt unprepaired when I returned to school. My spring break was, in general, good even though I did not go to the beach.

Stand and Deliver

Before watching Stand and Deliver, I was definitely not excited about watching it. After watching the movie, however, I came to the conclusion that it was a generally good movie. I thought that Mr. Escalante was a really good teacher because he never gave up on trying to teach the children. Even though they did not want to learn anything because no one had ever tried to honestly teach them, Mr. Escalante was committed to teaching them so that they could have a good future. I did not, however, like the large amount of bad language that was included in the movie. Overall, I thought that the movie Stand and Deliver was a good movie. This was because of the wonderful meaning that was portrayed through the characters.

Why Study Spanish?

Personally, I am studying Spanish to learn about the language and the culture. Although all cultures interest me, I am especially interested in the Spanish culture. These thoughts and ideas of these people are different than many other cultures but some of our ideas in the United States are also incorporated. People should study Spanish to learn about a culture other than their own. As people of a country that the second most popular language is Spanish, I believe we need to learn Spanish. People who are going into the workforce should learn Spanish. There are many jobs in which Spanish speaking people will be involved. One example of this is the field of medicine. All people will need medical assistance at some point in their life. An important benefit of learning Spanish is the capability to talk with more people. If you only speak one language, you can only communicate with people of that certain language. Overall, Spanish is good language to learn and can help you in your everyday life.
